Personality: Theobald is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He disdains his fellow easterners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Theobald was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Personality: Deceptive and manipulative this northern guy figured out how to best use his charms to convince people to do what he wants. He will do just about anything if he becomes convinced it is for someone's true love, of this he is easily convinced.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He has recently attracted an admirer that believes he's playing hard to get.

Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, she has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. She does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for her. She lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: She comes from a rich northern family. She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: She has money and likes to spend it; and money/treasure

Her hair is silver and very short. She wears round tiny glasses practically rammed into her face.

Personality: She is erratic and paranoid. She believes goblins are coming to abduct people. She also has developed a complete distrust of the Bookbinder profession.

History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. Cursed with unlife at a very young age, Galiena has worked very hard to control her curse. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
