History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion.

Personality: Abrasive and pushy, he has a hard time making friends. Gerard enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for his love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: Gerard was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Layabout for hire.

Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC; and wants to open a new tavern

Description: This late middle aged woman very much looks the part of a Cartwright and is in decent physical shape. Her long golden hair is drawn into a two foot long braid. Her eyes are blue and catlike.

Personality: Calm and collected, she is a well trained Cartwright. She is ready at a moment's notice to give into her darker urges. She is a real pyromaniac and does not care who the fire hurts. She often ends up burning people alive in the fires she starts.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. She struck it rich when she found rare goods in large quantities. She has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Cartwright responsibilities is difficult; and she is greedy
