History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Conrad alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Conrad was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the gnolls.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Joan has worked very hard to control her curse. She hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and she desires to right it; and to get a good night's sleep
