Personality: Quiet and reserved he prefers to listen than to talk. He will nod occasionally and communicate nonverbally. Around other people he will do his best to conceal his emotions and appear jolly.

History: The child of eastern immigrants he idolized his father. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Bernard grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Bernard. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Bernard was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
