History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. Through the years after Conrad was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Conrad's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Some 2 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Conrad never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered painting. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

Motivation: Her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion; and find a way to reverse the transformation of her brother
