Personality: Here is a man who knows he is the smartest in the room. He talks down to others constantly. He is accommodating to his spouse and as such limits his hospitality. He is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven himself a capable leader.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Roland was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

History: He got into the Shoemaker business at a young age. A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He tends to his Shoemaker job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Shoemaker responsibilities is difficult.
