His mother taught him the rudiments of the Bellfounder arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered singing. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, she has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. The war was a terrible time for her, and Melissa does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: She comes from a rich western family. In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. After months of barely getting by, Melissa managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, she made her way to the capital under a new identity.

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic woman, Beatrice's first love is herself. Her second love is also herself. She lacks moral complications. She does what she is told to by employers but not much else. She spends her money on whatever she fancies at the time.

History: Born in the west to a Knight, Beatrice learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Knight hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Carpenter they were divorced and she won custody of their daughter. She worked as a Knight, and she later adopted a second daughter.
