Personality: Ernest wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Paladin, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... He is motivated by money and will often try and persuade people to work for cheap. He haggles over everything, upselling his goods and buying cheap. He is persistent in everything.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: She loves telling others what to do and how they should feel about things. She is used to getting what she wants. In part because she is a meticulous planner.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A deep hatred of dire rats; and many dire rats want her driven away

Personality: She is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of her strength. She works very hard to maintain that gentleness. She lacks restraint and is impulsive. She jumps in and acts without thinking all too often.

History: Born in the south her family was never financially stable. Her family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. She saw this and took pride in her mother's willingness to do anything to win. She used her abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: She will attempt to ambush and attack anyone she thinks she can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. If successful, she will try to sell them to her slave-trader contact; and she is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions
