History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Miner they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Dyer, and he later adopted a second daughter.

History: Born to a Roofer, her mother struggled to pay the bills. When the war came and ruined her parents she was left adrift. She was a hard woman then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She used her abilities to travel the world and help people.

Motivation: She is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions; and she feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help
