Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of illithids may trigger it at times.

History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the desert to a summer home near a old dungeon. He would wander through that old dungeon and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the desert due to the painful memories there. Bernard took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up ceremonial dagger and armor he uses now. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. He does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for him. He lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: He was born into a rich family. A freak accident while working with his Unemployed mother left him crippled. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: Agatha is depressed about a lot of things. She tends to be a nihilist. She is a thrill seeker, she laughs at people and throws down challenges. She is highly competitive and combative.

History: She was born in the north, but her parents moved at a very young age to the west. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Cook. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

She does not believe in violence as a means to an end. She is a dedicated Architect but believes her peers are too gung-ho.

History: She was born in a small plains village. Her first spouse was a Herbalist, they had one daughter, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. By chance she met her brother recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: To be a Herbalist again; and balancing her hectic life and new architect responsibilities is difficult
