History: Melissa was raised in a hard working conservative environment. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg.

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion; and doesn't want to be a tanner and was forced into it by her family
