History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Reynard was born on a far western plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Scribe. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many brigands want him driven away; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

Personality: While she is on the job, she is grim and serious. She understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. She lacks moral complications. She does what she is told to by employers but not much else. She spends her money on whatever she fancies at the time.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. Through the years after Elysande was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Elysande's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She became a Sage soon after.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg; and she has comitted a past crime that haunts her to this day
