History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. In her 15th year, her parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Jacoba alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike her way of doing things and want revenge; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and she desires to right it
