History: He was born in the south. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Arnold alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He wants revenge against brigands; and many brigands want him driven away

She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.
