He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Through the years after Emmeline was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Emmeline's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. In his 12th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
