Personality: Stoic and calm, she prefers to meditate than take action. The war was a terrible time for her, and Helen does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Helen grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Helen. As of late she has set up a hidden staging nest where she ambushes people she hires for escort.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Baker hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He became a Baker soon after.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help.

Personality: She is not truly malevolent, but she is obsessed with writing. She constantly tries to fill her life with writing. Further she is a bit of a stoner and is frequently out of it.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Matilda was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered writing. She has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Motivation: Wishes to resurrect an old love; and she feels kind of lost in life
