When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Knight hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Alex was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Paladin, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Paladin in service of a powerful lord somewhere. Personality: He is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before his hampering stammer kicks in. He misses his home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. A freak accident while working with his Layabout mother left him crippled. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Motivation: To protect his home; and doesn't want to be a servant and was forced into it by his family
