History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. There was a wharf not far from home where she often wandered off to fish. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. Matilda is a bit of a follower. Usually she is manipulated by her sisters into helping them out, but recently she has become more of a free agent.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by gnolls. Matilda was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the gnolls.

Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He was granted arcane powers by his dying brother.

Through the years after Hubert was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Hubert's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.
