Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.

History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Alex was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
