History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Kody was born on a far northern island where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Ruler. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. In her 15th year, her parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Ermina alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has worked as a Bookbinder like her mother before her.
