History: He comes from a rich northern family. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. In the meantime he has taken over work as a Sage and occasionally as a mercenary.

Motivation: A deep hatred of gnolls; and he desires power and/or immortality

History: Born in the north his family was never financially stable. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To prove his worth to the world; and he is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally
