History: A child with a great deal of music talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature axe.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Jacoba was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the dire rats.

Motivation: She has a rivalry with the Church that dominates her actions.

Personality: She is a Shoemaker first and foremost. She believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. Only to laugh say gotcha and shoot double pistol fingers at the fooled target.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Shoemaker. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
