History: Roland lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His father was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Dilettante they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Carter, and he later adopted a second son.

History: Chad was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He worked as a nervous Detective and found it very stressful. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.
