History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

History: The child of eastern immigrants she idolized her father. While she appears to be a normal Human, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and many giants want him driven away
