She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Through the years after Emmeline was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Emmeline's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He was granted necromantic powers by his dying brother.
