However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the giants.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Map Maker. Recently a tribe of orcs attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Matilda fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in warhammer use. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Wymar was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the gnolls.

Motivation: He wants revenge against gnolls; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it
