His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in sai use. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. His parents were killed by goblins in a raid when he was still a young child. The goblins captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by goblins. Miles was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the goblins.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Born in the west her family was never financially stable. She made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. After a long history of fighting, Juliana and her spouse have recently divorced.
