Description: An older man who wears a faded coat and loose pants complete with broad hat, he is not a threatening figure. His moppish black hair is in a traditional bowl cut. He wears a mask on his face.

Personality: Abrasive and pushy, he has a hard time making friends. His home and work are filled with various knick knacks he has acquired through the years. He cares a great deal for his adopted teenage son.

History: Hubert was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the mountains to a summer home near a ruined castle. He would wander through that ruined castle and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the mountains due to the painful memories there. Hubert took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up bastard sword and armor he uses now. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Personality: He is shy and timid. He has not had much interaction with people and is skittish around them. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Chad is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Chad was born the youngest of three triplets. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Personality: He is overprotective of those who hire his services. He is used to getting what he wants. In part because he is a meticulous planner.

History: Guy hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting dire rats, the young Guy began to lead the lost caravan. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: He desires power and/or immortality; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it

Personality: She speaks before she thinks and is too direct. As she has aged she has sought to do reparations for her actions as a youth. She is also making sure that her compatriots who never received punishment for their crimes are brought to justice.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Her family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. She saw this and took pride in her mother's willingness to do anything to win. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help; and she has decided she is irredeemable
