Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Kyle embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. The war was a terrible time for him, and Kyle does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: Melissa is depressed about a lot of things. She tends to be a nihilist. She is kind towards other women and children and will generally offer women help without question. Others will generally need to prove themselves to her.

History: Melissa was born the youngest of three triplets. Being born in the west, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. She now spends her time doing works of charity.

Personality: She never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. She is stubborn though. She always likes to keep a trick up her sleeve. She likes to fight dirty and will kick and punch below the belt if she feels she even has a chance of losing.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Her mother took her hunting and taught her how to get in the mind of other creatures. Being a Shepherd kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.
