History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the east. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and human compassion

Description: A stocky darker skinned man, he wears a faded coat and loose pants complete with top hat. His red hair is long and unkept. His fierce blue eyes like to dwell on things.

Personality: He resents people who mock his appearance or him, so he has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. He loves being with his children and actually smiles when they are around. He would do anything for them. He dislikes his ex a great deal.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

His one remaining eye shines blue.

Personality: Hugh hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his writing career. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.
