Personality: She is a woman who does what she needs to. She will acquiesce to black mail and extortion to avoid trouble. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of illithids may trigger it at times.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: She is soft-spoken, optimistic and speaks nonstop, as she rather likes the sound of her voice. Her demeanor is somewhat feminine. She does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for her. She lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Matilda was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She was taken from her home at a very young age. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
