History: Helen hails from a village terrorized by giants. In her 20th year, while out on a day-trip, she returned to find her hometown burning and destroyed. She found her mother impaled in their home, and her father beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. After a long history of fighting, Helen and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: She was raised in a desert tribe. A freak accident while working with her Mayor father left her crippled. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: He is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. He has the money to obtain near anything and knows that if you pay a man enough he will sell his own mother. Money is his most trusted friend.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He has achieved small success as a Tanner.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and someone believes him a fraud

Personality: While she is on the job, she is grim and serious. She understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. As long as the job gets done she does not care how it got done.

History: She was born into a rich family. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Elysande grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Elysande. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Ploughman they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Spice Merchant, and she later adopted a second son.

Motivation: She has decided she is irredeemable; and to find somewhere to settle down
