It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: She is extraordinarily passive and rarely speaks, let alone speaks her mind. Animals are drawn to her, and she is able to talk to them.

History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her father and mother. Her father taught her the rudiments of the Body Guard arts, while her mother instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. She inherited a moderately successful company from her father. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
