It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: Beatrice wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Paladin, so she tries to act the part. She does a good job, for the most part... She is a font of random trivia from the lore and stories she has discovered

History: She was raised by priests from a young age. She went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: Her religion dominates her actions; and to share knowledge with the world

Description: He wears a blue deerstalker hat and blue clothes, and carries bows. He sports a long black beard, and similarly colored long hair. His green eyes are desperate and heavily dilated. He has the appearance of someone under the heavy influence of drugs.

Personality: He is extraordinarily passive and rarely speaks, let alone speaks his mind. On top of that he is swayed by a pretty face, and while loyalty to his employer will always come first he doesn't like to hit women.

History: Alexandre was born the youngest of three triplets. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

Description: He stands about 5'7" and is generally well dressed albeit a few years behind the times. His right leg appears badly burned and disfigured. His golden hair is styled in orderly dreadlocks. He wears round tiny glasses practically rammed into his face.

Personality: He is a hateful person. He taunts others and blames them for his problems. He invented a lineage for himself and claims to be descended from several legendary heroes.

History: Born to a Guard, his mother struggled to pay the bills. Through the years after Shane was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Shane's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: He has passion for adventuring and risk; and he's looking for his big break
