History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. His childhood dream was to be a Herbalist, but he was a colossal failure. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Description: With grey face paint in a stripe pattern across his face, he likes to wear black tank tops with green pants. His broad hat is riddled with cuts and holes. He wears large thick round spectacles.

Personality: He is business-like. He takes instructions and follows them to the letter. He uses his nature as a weapon; he likes to lead opponents to think him in distress.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Cartwright arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Gerard grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Gerard. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

He is a bit of a macho man and will challenge people to random contests of strength and skill, and invite them to random hunting and fishing trip.

History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.
