History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. Her divine abilities were realized during a raid on her village. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

History: Born in the north to a Tanner, Avice learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. Her mother disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her mother, she was betrayed dozens of times. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help; and sabotage a competitor

Personality: This man loves writing and to teach people writing more than just about anything. He is susceptible to being scared and is in actuality easily frightened. He likes to tell stories.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. Over the years he perfected his riding and shooting skills. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many giants want him driven away; and he is terrified, and will act out of fear
