History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Melissa grew up listening to her father's many stories. She has had some formal poetry training, and achieved minor success. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature spear.

History: She comes from a rich southern family. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever she goes.

History: He comes from a rich southern family. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
