History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. When Randal reached his early adolescence his Human father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his mother's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered dire rats who tried to eat his hand. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and someone believes him a fraud

History: Born in the north her family was never financially stable. She went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: To prove her worth to the world; and she has a rivalry with the church that dominates her actions
