History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. A gifted student she started as a Ploughman, but she got bored and became a Bookbinder. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: A deeply religious woman she believes everything happens for a reason. She has a habit of throwing herself into exceedingly dangerous situations.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Sarah was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To prove her worth to the world; and she has a rivalry with the church that dominates her actions
