History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her father. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Giselle's homeland. Giselle decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: She has comitted a past crime that haunts her to this day; and she feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help

His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, John has worked very hard to control his curse. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
