History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Anne was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Junk Dealer. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

History: He was raised in a plains tribe. Over the years he perfected his riding and shooting skills. Being a Ploughman kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help

Her partner is her best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. She works hard and plays hard.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the south were limited. She has dedicated herself to building a better village for her children.
