Personality: She speaks before she thinks and is too direct. She loves teas. She is very sensitive about her face. To blow off anger she lifts weights and to control her otherwise explosive temper she works out a lot.
History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. She struck it rich when she found rare goods in large quantities. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Personality: Matilda hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate her. It was this clingy personality that held back her writing career. Animals are drawn to her, and she is able to talk to them.
History: She was born at the edge of vast mountains. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has never given up on her writing dream.
Motivation: She is unsatisfied with her job; and balancing her hectic life and new weaver responsibilities is difficult

Description: This malnourished woman wears an old set of leather armor, nicked and torn by the ravages of time and battle. Her hair is short and black. She has amber eyes.
Personality: She is quiet and reserved most of the time, but warms up to people very quickly. Around friends she is liable to tell dirty jokes and enjoy herself. She is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure she is not cheated out of a speck.
History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Being born in the west, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.
Motivation: Marry her brother to traveling adventurers; and find a way to reverse the transformation of her brother

Personality: Deceptive and manipulative this northern guy figured out how to best use his charms to convince people to do what he wants. He pushes his goals aggressively. He is also a coward if confronted.
History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. A gifted student he started as a Barber, but he got bored and became a Slave Trader. He tends to his Slave Trader job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.
Motivation: To unite with his brother; and he feels threatened by others
