History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. His father was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and he doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions
