History: He was raised by priests from a young age. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: She was born into a rich family. Her homeland was ravaged by war and she spent much of her life rebuilding it. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.
