Personality: He is extraordinarily passive and rarely speaks, let alone speaks his mind. He can't help but pocket interesting objects he comes across

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Roland grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Roland. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and to end his boredom

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Rosamund was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared.
