Personality: He takes his job very seriously, in part because he fears he cannot get a new one. He is a bit of a xeno-phobe, disliking non-Humans.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Ruler work with an outfit from a few towns over. Ruler work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. A gifted student she started as a Mortician, but she got bored and became a Layabout. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Katherine fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Layabout responsibilities is difficult.
