Description: He wears a simple brown robe with white stripes complete with hood. He carries a battered quarterstaff and tarnished ceremonial dagger as well. He sports a long chestnut beard, and similarly colored long hair. He has a very pronounced jaw and large eyebrows. He wears rectangular glasses with silver brims.

Personality: He is almost excessively polite to everyone, even when angry. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: Balimaar hails from a village terrorized by orcs. He took after his mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting orcs, the young Balimaar began to lead the lost caravan. Recently a tribe of orcs attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Balimaar fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Ruler born in the past three hundred years. Flattery will make him almost putty in your hands.

History: Born to a Bather, his mother struggled to pay the bills. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Ruler hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He now owns his own business.

Personality: She trusts no one. She is not readily capable for forgiveness and her ire never leaves her. She is stubborn though. She always likes to keep a trick up her sleeve. She likes to fight dirty and will kick and punch below the belt if she feels she even has a chance of losing.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. She moved out north to avoid the crime she committed. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Motivation: A rival would like her out of the picture; and seeks redemption

History: Mary hails from a village terrorized by giants. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Herbalist. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: She wants to meet her childhood hero; and to fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever
