Personality: He hates brigands. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He never wears the same outfit twice, unless he absolutely has to.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Simon was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Simon alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Mary grew up listening to her mother's many stories. At a young age she wooed the heart of her future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. She got away from her former life and has fallen to alcoholism.
