However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the gnolls.

History: He comes from a rich western family. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: She is wracked by social anxiety.

Personality: He goes out his way to put a smile on everyone's face. There's no-one he won't accept into his heart. He is fiercely devoted to his father, and views his father's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-sister.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Arnold grew up listening to his father's many stories. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.
