History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Like his mother and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Carter. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Carter responsibilities is difficult.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Williamina was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She helped her father out around the business and became quite the natural. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Expand her business; and to prove her worth to the world

Personality: She cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with her opinion, she thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, she can get violently argumentative. Joan enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for her love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: She was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. While she appears to be a normal Human, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.
